Abstract:

The paper is a survey of Russian studies applying methods of Construction Grammar (CxG) to the Russian data. It is shown that Construction Grammar proved to be intrinsically close to the Russian linguistic tradition because similar ideas had been present in Russian language studies long before the term was coined. Today, CxG in Russian linguistics appears to be a conventional method of working with linguistic data whose importance is not in the methodology itself but in its ability to produce very detailed analyses that allow to confirm or disprove generic hypotheses.
